Downtown
El Paso looking from Cuidad
Juarez
Hispanic News
starts a new category: "Economic
Development" with the lead
article — Microfinance Group
Transforms Lives of Latin
American Women. As the former
executive director of economic
development for the City of El
Paso which included the El Paso
Industrial Development Authority
issuing tax exempt bonds,
I prepared the application to
the U.S. Foreign Trade Zones
Board and obtained U.S. approval
for the El Paso Foreign Trade
Zone.
Subsequent to this and prior to
NAFTA, I bought and operated a
Maquilidora in Cuidad Juarez,
Mexico. Prior to El Paso, I
served as the economic
development coordinator for the
City of Tucson. With this
background plus the more recent
private sector experience as v.p.
for planning and development for
once the biggest real estate
developer in Arizona, I now want
to broaden the scope of Hispanic
News and to have Ayuda provide
economic development services to
Hispanics —
